Come along to the Local Food Wanaka Spring Seed Swap! This is a two hour event for anyone wanting to get into the garden this coming year.
You can bring your own selection of seeds or plants/seedlings to swap with others, and gold coins as koha/donations with which you can barter with other local gardeners for seeds if you dont have any of your own. Even if you dont have any seeds or plants you are still encouraged to attend and barter (maybe baked goods?!)
A koha/donation is also asked for on the door to cover room hire costs.
The aim of this event is to help anyone who is interested in growing their own plants in the Upper Clutha region. It will also be an opportunity to ask questions to local gardeners.
There will be free local heritage sunflower seeds and calendula seeds available on the door.
We recommend that you bring:
– Gold coins for Koha
– bags for putting seeds into (you can make your own out of newspaper
– a pen to write what seeds you have on the bags
– something for swapping Seeds/Seedlings/Plants/Baked Goods/?etc (not absolutely essential though).
The event will be at the Lake Wanaka Centre in the Faulks room (up the stairs) on Friday 11th October between 5.30pm to 7.30pm. All welcome.
