You are cordially invited to come along to the Local Food Wanaka Spring Seed Swap!
This is a two hour event for anyone wanting to get into the garden this coming year. You can either bring your own selection of seeds to swap with others, or bring some gold coins (or baked goods! Feel free to barter!) as koha donations with which you can barter with other local gardeners for seeds if you dont have any of your own. A koha/donation is also asked for on the door to cover room hire costs.
The aim of this event is to help anyone who is interested in growing their own plants in the Upper Clutha region. It will also be an opportunity to ask questions to local gardeners.
There will be free local heritage sunflower seeds and calendula seeds available on the door.
We recommend that you bring:
– Gold coins for Koha
– Bags for putting seeds into (you can make your own out of newspaper here: http://www.cheapvegetablegardener.com/make-your-own-paper-seed-packets/ )
– Pen to write what seeds you have
– Something for swapping (not essential though!).
The event will be held at the Lake Wanaka Centre in the Faulks room (up the stairs) on Friday 11th October between 5.30pm to 7.30pm. All welcome.
