Local Food Tour

In December 2012, Localising Food Tour was organised in Wanaka by the then emerging Transition Town Wanaka.

We had four half-day workshops: seed-saving, seasonal growing calendar, permaculture, and starting a garden from scratch. There were two evening presentations on the politics of food security and creating local food resilience. And on the weekend we had a two day workshop on creating a local food resilience action plan.

One of the benefits of the Local Food Tour  was the initiation of various local food projects and the creation of our overarching Local Food Wanaka Group. Below is a broad outline. If you would like more information or to get involved, please contact us.
